Monodendri is one of the beautiful villages of Zagori and is built in 1060 m altitude and is 39 km away from Ioannina. It is named after a big fir-tree that had been in that area since 1840. Until 1753 it used to be a community consisting of three districts (Vitsa, Ano Mahalas, Ag. Georgios).

It came to its peak in the 17th and 18th century, when its benefactors built mansions, churches and schools there. Rizari brothers come from Monodendri.

Today, Monodendri is an attraction for visitors not only from Greece but also from abroad, during all year. The facilities of the services to our guests is of high quality and the Traditional Guest-House of Ladias Bros. observes the conditions of a pleasant residence.

How to get here

• Follow the main National Roads towards the city of Ioannina
  (N.R. Andirio - Ioannina or 'Egnatia Odos' motorway).
• After passing Ioannina, continue North
  (using the N.R. Ioannina - Kozani).
• At the 18th km turn right to Zagori and follow the road signs to the village Vitsa. The route is approximately half an hour from Ioannina. For more information please contact us.
